Lemon Eucalyptus Oil (OLE) serves the purpose. Its fragrance is gentler; kids will not reject it as with Citronella or DEET. Citronella and DEET are not recommended for children especially those under 3 years old.
OLE is also used as food flavouring/fragrance and therapeutic purposes by aboriginals in Australia for many years. Cherub Rubs uses very safe low concentration of OLE in Scatterbugs.
