Where does the Urea in Dermal Therapy come from?

The urea we use is synthetically produced by combining ammonia and carbon dioxide in a manufacturing environment.

Is Dermal Therapy available in other countries?

Yes. In fact Dermal Therapy is now available in more than 50 countries worldwide due to its outstanding performance characteristics.

Can Dermal Therapy be used in patients with Pustular Psoriasis?

We have not carried out studies of Dermal Therapy on patients with Pustular Psoriasis and are therefore unable to recommend that Dermal Therapy be used specifically for the treatment of this particular condition.

We do believe that Dermal Therapy can be applied to help relieve the resulting dry skin conditions once the condition is under control.

The benefits of using Dermal Therapy products are their rapid absorption to quickly rehydrate the skin and the enhanced moisture retention properties offered.

Dermal Therapy is used and often recommended in treatment regimes to provide patients with symptomatic relief from the ‘drying’ effects of eczema and psoriasis.

Can anyone use Dermal Therapy, even young children?

As a general rule, the range of Dermal Therapy products can be used in adults and children between the ages of 12 and 18 years.  Dermal Therapy products are not tested on young children.  We would therefore recommend that a parent or guardian considering a Dermal Therapy product for use on a young child, do so on the advice of a suitably qualified healthcare professional. All Dermal Therapy packaging contains precautions and warning information;  in the absence of guidance from a healthcare professional, we do recommend that the packaging advice is followed. Dry Skin Lotion would be suitable for children over 2 years old.

Can any of the Dermal Therapy products be used whilst undergoing Radiotherapy?

Any product; not only Dermal Therapy, which contains a protective agent forming a barrier, cannot/should not be used during radiotherapy treatment.

This response is based on the assumption that ‘During radiotherapy’ means “while undergoing the actual radiation”.

It would be our advice that before entering the room where radiotherapy is given, Dermal Therapy Lip Balm, Dermal Therapy Very Dry Skin Cream or any Dermal Therapy product should be wiped off carefully.

After the completion of the treatment patients can start using it again. As the side effects normally start after the treatment, the products are perfectly suitable to counteract those.

Are there any other products with the same formulation as Dermal Therapy on the market?

Whilst there are similar products available on the market, the Dermal Therapy formulations are unique.  They are developed to deliver maximum efficacy and are rigorously tested to provide what we believe are the ‘best in class’ available on the market.

Are Dermal Therapy products safe to use long term?

The Dermal Therapy range of products is growing, and each product should be assessed individually for long-term use. We recommend that where healthcare advice is sought, the individual patient history is taken into account and the directions for each product (as provided on the packaging) are followed as closely as possible.  Attention should be paid to the ingredients when duration of use is being considered.  Dermal Therapy Heel Balm is the most prescribed brand for diabetic foot care due to its exceptional performance and suitability for long term use.
